Hi Goldbug23,

For any ongoing operation their are a number of cost factors to consider, in a broad sense you have to;

1. Find the resource
2. Finance the grassroots phase
3. Development costs including financing
4. Operating costs
5. Costs to Replace the reserve (Usually forgotten by most analysts)

A case in point, look at what Barrick spends annually on exploration or purchasing resources.
