The Kodak Snapshot Scanner and Magic Image Service may generate lots of scanning business and hardware sales. Maybe CRNR will get a piece of the action? The Snapshot Scanner is a small home unit. People feed in their favorite photos and they pop-up on the screen - for home use or transmittal over the net to family and friends. The Magic Image Service allows people to bring their favorite photos to your local Kodak developer, they scan the photo, then give you a CD with the digitized image. Kodak is having a conference this week about this new scanning technology. They expect it to be very big. I see that the ImageAccel3, combined with the Netscape &middot Truecolor plug-in, allows for a palate 16.7 million colors to be transmitted over the internet. Also, PixelTranslations provides production drivers for Kodak scanners. If CRNR is in position to take advantage of this explosion in scanning, it will be very nice for their bottom line.
