Dont' let AMD pull the clock over your eyes.

I am going to defer further comment on AMD's pathetic floating point performance until we have the benchmarks in front of us. So we can leave that one alone for a couple of weeks. It isn't fair to berate their dismal achievements without corroborating data.

As for over-clocking. one could argue that 300 Mhz processors are not being overclocked if the manufacturer is simply tossing out the failed units, regardless of the yield. That is my point, they don't have the yield at 200 Mhz but we shall see when they exhaust what they have been stockpiling to establish a market presence in Germany.

As for notebooks, visit the Intel site and look at some of the recent manufacturing and design improvements which have gone into the 166 Mhz Pentium. It will be years before the K6 achieves anything remotely like this. Look, they have their hands full with the yield on their core system which is already two-year old technology.
