Christopher,
Perception is reality. My perception is that you came on to the thread as a show off and I saw no credentials. I looked at your past postings elsewhere (CPQ in particular) and put your performance here together with past history and formed an opinion.
As a teacher you should be aware of the need to find the right methodology to get your message across. Otherwise, you'll be tuned out from the get go. If you had taken a different approach its likely that people would be more open to listening to you.
If you are suspecious then ask questions until you get a clearer picture of what is going on.
Unfortunately, your first interactions - lack of clarity, answering questions with questions, passing over simple and direct questions - set the tone.
The world is big enough to hold many opinions, and I'm sure most everyone here welcomes them from you as long as you are also willing to provide detail and show the rigor of your analysis that supports your conclusions.
I am a Systems Programmer and a UNIX Systems Administrator. I have worked in Data Processing for over 16 years. I have also instructed Math classes at a college level including Calculas I, II, III, IV, Differential Equations, and Linear Algebra.
If you are still reading, and open to some humour, may I also add that my perception of you has undergone a subtle change. I now picture you with a beard. ;) |
