You said,

I don't understand why a Mobile package is necessary for mutliprocessor support. You sound like an angry Intel stock holder calling AMD's products sour grapes.

A mobile design isn't necessary for multiprocessor support and I have not made any such assertion. I am pointing out that these critcal high profit markets are not even being challenged by the K6 because the product does not meet even the most basic criteria for entry. There's good reason for the deafening silence on these issues from AMD as they know they aren't even ready for prime-time in the desktop end of the spectrum.

AMD's microprocessors have been an abject failure, anybody with any sense recognizes that, including the principals at AMD. The K6 has been demonstrated lately in samples running at 200 Mhz. It is not at all certain that the 166 Mhz version will ever find a market and not a single major OEM supports the product. There is nothing to be sour about.
