Re: After looking up the ai-report for germany, comparing to the one of Turkey, I state even more confidently than before that Germany's human rights situation is not so bad - c o m p a r a t i v e l y.
Wanna talk ''comparisons'', eh? Then, as I put it before: remember that if the Allied Powers, back in 1945, had applied such an UNCOMPROMISING Human Rights scale to measure Germans's aptitude to democracy as yours with regard to Turkey then Germany would still look like Albania today!! Then France, the UK, the Netherlands, and the other democratic European countries would have never had the willpower to foster the European Union; then Germany would still be occupied by Allied garrisons and the whole of the German skies would still be a NO-FLY ZONE; then... and so forth!
In short, if post-1945 Germany --along with her capitalist konzerns such as Bayer AG (that still manufactures the Zyklon B lethal gas), IG Farben, Volkswagen, Krupp, Thyssen, etc. that were all valuable assets to the Nazi regime-- was a good fit for a ''brand new democratic Europe'' THEN Turkey could qualify as well. As post-Franquist Spain did qualify in 1981 and as post-Colonels-led Greece did qualify in 1985. And as Mafia-led Italy did qualify for European membership from the start!! Cosa Nostra, the Camorra and other Italian mobs are responsible for thousands of violent murders in Italy and in Europe, not to speak of their drug/prostitution/arms trafficking --Europe-wide. Italy's former PM Bettino Craxi is a FUGITIVE hiding in Tunisia!! So why is Italy not banned from civilised Europe?? LOL! |
