PC Week's Spencer F. Katt Rumor Central (http://www.zdnet.com/pcweek/stories/columns/0,4351,406084,00.html) - "A consultant friend of the Furball recently bought a new HP Pavilion with Network Associates' McAfee anti-virus software preinstalled. After an infected floppy nailed the boot sector on the system's hard drive, the consultant spent 4 hours downloading various instructions and updates from the NAI site and still could not fix the problem. The resolution: He went to CompUSA, plopped down $29 for rival Symantec's Norton AntiVirus and took care of the problem in 10 minutes. His response from NAI after he notified customer support of the issue: an automated e-mail response telling him how to register."
