Alacrity Systems Introduces E-Quip 2...The Software MFP!
HACKETTSTOWN, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3, 1999--Alacrity Systems Incorporated, for years the major supplier of application software directly to the manufacturers of Multi-Function Peripherals (MFP's), announced today the release of E-Quip(R) 2...the software MFP. "It is no longer necessary to purchase additional hardware to get the full functionality of a MFP", said Ed Feldman, Alacrity's Director of Product Marketing. "Using E-Quip(R) 2 software and just about any scanner and modem, a user can now get all the functionality of a MFP without purchasing expensive hardware." The software is a full featured, e-mail enabled address book, fax, color copier, contact manager, tickler, alarm clock, reminder, phone dialer, rolodex, photo and image editor, viewer, Caller ID display and much more.
The E-Quip(R) 2 Address Book enables a user to send e-mail, faxes and even make voice calls, keeping all contact information readily available. The user can create distribution lists that contain both fax and e-mail addresses...this software is capable of sending the same message as either a fax or e-mail. E-Quip(R) 2 is compatible with most internet e-mail services including AOL, Netscape Messenger, Microsoft Internet mail packages, Yahoo! Mail and other internet e-mail programs.
With E-Quip(R) 2 and any TWAIN compliant scanner and printer, a user can make color copies of photos, attach a voice message and e-mail them over the internet. This software's document management functionality displays multiple documents simultaneously and manipulates pages on-screen as easily as on a desk. This allows the user to copy, crop, scale, cut, paste and even fill out forms on the PC. This package even includes TextBridge(R) OCR by Xerox. The integrated "Tickler" also includes an alarm to remind you of appointments and coming events.
