Dave A Warrant can best be desicribed as a very long term call option.
The holder has the right to purchase the stock at a given price. In the INTC it is $40.00 (or close). There are different conditions as to how and when a warrant may be converted into stock. Sometimes it is just a given date, other times it might be tied to a takeover, or if the stock trades above a certain price for a given length of time. At this level the only thing you loose is the $0.50 dividend you would receive by buying the stock. The warrants will trade very close to dollar for dollar with INTC giving you grater reward & risk potencial.
Someone else can probably fill you in to the exact terms.
