>>> Changes in I/O processing are afoot<<< I'm sure many of you are running Windows 98. How many find it difficult to run Java applets on the Web without your computer locking up? I understand this is a problem between Windows 98 and your computer's BIOS. I have been trying for a week to get my computer maker (a local company here in San Diego) to get me a newer version (perhap's one that been revised to correct this problem) of my BIOS. So far, no luck. Maybe they don't have one yet. I hope I/O is standardized soon, as Java is becoming more popular and I'd hate to think my computer is going to balk every time I run it.
