As one of the few modest bulls on this board, consider an article in this week's Barron's about the recent Internet World show.

" America Online made a big splash at the show, attracting a huge crowd to its booth. The equally spacious Prodigy and CompuServe booths, meanwhile, looked like ghost towns reinforcing the conventional wisdomthat their services no longer have much of a future. " You can read the full article at: barrons.com

Poster to the Motley Fool, where bulls abound, also pointed out that the recent AOL Insider says AOL will have "voice instant messages".

"Casablanca will give users the ability to hold voice conversations with other AOLers, which will quickly make it a leader in Internet telephony. If AOL phone is part of 4.0, one can only imagine the potential and the possibilities for additional revenue beginning later this year. Imagine .02 a minute worldwide calling to fellow AOL members; imagine ads running in a box on the screen while people REALLY chat."

Is there any technical merit to this? I continue to think the AOL management is a lot smarter than the folks on this board, who are too absorbed in the details of their own use of the internet and too disdainful of the masses which use AOL.
