Re: Barad

The story seemed negatively slanted to be sure. Whether for good reason or not, I'm not sure. The thing that most struck me was the portrayal that she made an absurd promise to Wall Street, short-sightedly wrecked the product line to keep the promise, and then massively broke it anyway. Talk about no credibility. The article also seems to imply that she has contempt for market researchers, preferring instead to go with her gut. For a company like Mattel, all I can see coming of that is ruin. It calls into question the reliability of cash flows, a big issue given the large debt and acquisition. In this perspective, mattel.com looks less shrewd and more like a quick fix/appease-the-analysts type of mvoe.
