A LG $499 system deal with a San Jose Computer Co. ?
Now if they had said an Elk Grove , CA company it would be news but it does raise some questions .
For example , What San Jose Computer Co has embarked on a a retail marketing effort ? 3COM ? IBM (San Jose)?
Here's the puzzle:

EZ-Machine from LG International.
The PCs are initially expected to carry a suggested retail price of between $499 and $599, but one source in the retail industry said rebates could cut these prices by more than $100.
The systems will go up against the popular eMachines line, marketed by eMachines, Irvine, Calif., a joint venture between South Korean PC manufacturer TriGem Computer Inc. and monitor-maker Korea Data Systems.
Unlike the eMachines line, which has graced the front page in circulars for many national retail stores, the EZ-Machines inception has been shrouded in secrecy.
Officials at LG International, San Jose, declined to comment.
Interviewed last month, one executive there, who asked to remain anonymous, said LG International was looking into brokering a deal between a San Jose-based system manufacturer and computer retailers.
He said the manufacturer was not a division of LG but declined to identify the company."

Can't be any margins left in desktop PCs . There is a Korean LG - IBM Company .
