Seriously, though, we may be at that time when all the bugs are so discouraged and gold is so out of favour that we have a classic contrarian buy? It would be interesting if we could look back at other lows for a reading of sentiment - but of course there were no chat lines then - and this low is unprecedented - after all the one 20 years ago was after a run up from $35 in 1971 - so it was a relatively short term low.
