Take a look at the money being spent in the last six months by the major OEMs, and vast numbers of smaller fish, pushing dual/quad Pentium Pro servers. This is a huge market and eveybody is going after it. Just look at the companies that used to sell UNIX servers in this market and look at the phenominal growth of the market space within the last six months to a year. Don't underestimate this market. This is what keeps Hewlett Packard, Sun Mircosystems and a many others raking in billions of dollars each quarter.

If AMD has a notebook version for next quarter, the following quarter or the end of the year they would have announced it. Intel's Mobile Computing division has spent the last year on the complicated and challenging problem of putting a Pentium 166 Mhz into a notebook and they have done it, tested it, shipped it and refined it. Visit their homepage and read the Mobile Computing information before you decide that this is somehow a nobrainer. Don't underestimate the billions spent on notebook and laptop computers by corporations around the world. Again, K6 is a non-event in this space.

AMD does not have one top tier OEM lined up for next quarter or for any other quarter. They barely hit 200 Mhz and now they are trying line up the lower tier upgrade markets. Dismal marketing failure.

Now they have totally disregarded Intel's trademark MMX (tm) and that's only going to piss off Intel even more. They will put the screws to AMD which has done nothing but live off Intel's labor, while still managing to loose money quarter, after quarter, after quarter.
