You see Martha Ingram is the matriarch, and her son's run all the business's.
This is the Ingram empire.
Ingram Idustries. 1998 revenue $2bil. owns Ingram Book group, nations largest book distributor.
Ingram Entertainment. Nation's largest independent distributor of movie video rentals, DVD hardware and software, video games and CD-ROM multimedia products, and audio books.

Unfortunately, Martha's above companies are private, but we do have this.
Ingram Micro.
World's largest distributor of personal computer hardware, software and peripherals.
1998 revenue of $22bil, with a profit of $245 million.
Ingram micro is public, so if you had that matriarch behind you, and she was the controlling shareholder of Buy.com, wouldn't you want to join her??
