Sophia, Thank you for posting the news on Digital and bringing it to our attention. I did not know that this new alpha chip was coming, but evidently Dan Niles, the analyst for Robinson Stephens, did. I just wonder if this announcement was the reason for Intel selling off so rapidly on Friday late afternoon. BTW I think that Dan Niles is one of the best analysts covering Intel.
All, Unfortunately, I do not have the time tonight to review in detail my recent thoughts on Intel. I will tell you though that nothing has really changed in my mind since early January. Over the last two months I have posted my thoughts, and if anyone is interested, you might want to search on "Jules" and read my posts re Intel. I have recently bought back all the Intel Calls that I sold in early January, and began adding a few Intel Calls, very cautiously. I began adding these calls the last time Intel was at 137-138. I still remain very concerned on what the overall market will do, but I am watching for when jmac sells his Intel as a sign that all of the irrational exuberance that existed in December, and early January, has been dissipated.
I continue to hold a very large number of IBM Put contracts to hedge against a deep correction in the market, or technology stocks more specific. Much to my chagrin IBM sure did not do what I expected it to do last week, however, if you want to read my reasons for remaining negative on IBM, you might want to read my recent posts on the IBM thread.
