FOr that matter-- we could leave out the blueberries and yogurt and just drink straight vodka.
A sad, but typical day in the life of a Southlake mother..
I carefully planned the week's menus on my little meal calendar this morning, paying close attention to fat, because I am, and to vitamins because the boys NEED one or two. Ammo gave CW 18 Butterfinger candy bars for graduation and they're living on them. I then made my grocery list, organizing it by categories to most efficiently use my shopping time. I went to the store and bought many things not on the list. I fought with the produce man, who didn't have one pound bags of carrots, just five pounds, which I didn't want and he wouldn't let me tear open a bag. I went and played with make-up in the cosmetic section. I spent a long time reading the carpet cleaner labels, seeing if any one were better suited for getting bird blood off rugs. I talked to the meat man, who is my friend. The lines were long and I read the cover of National Enquirer and learned that Jon Benet was murdered by the family cat. I was exhausted when I got home and unloaded the groceries. Dan called to say he was working late, CW was going out to dinner with his friends, Ammo is sunburned and said he couldn't eat anything but Butterfingers. So I didn't make the soup--- but I have all the ingredients And tomorrow IS another day. |
