<Do you believe AMD will try to position K7 as a high quality chip at a high price, or an "Intel killer" at a low price>

AMD will try and position their chips against any Intel chip they want. They used to position the K6-2 against the Pentium II, until Celeron gained an on-die L2 cache.

Now they're trying to position the K6-III against the Pentium III. Hence, the Roman numeral 'III' intended to mock the Pentium III.

And with the K7, AMD is claiming that because it's "seventh-generation technology," and Pentium III is "sixth-generation," the K7 will be positioned against the unreleased Willamette, Intel's next-generation x86 processor.

Of course, this is all according to AMD marketing.
