Neocon -- you were a Marshall at the age of 15?? Or even 16?? Or are you lying about your age, you naughty thing?
As I said in my post to nihil, these things are all subjective. For example, I of course know that the Civil Rights movement began with the Montgomery bus boycott in the 50's, but I think of the movement as a whole as ultimately a 60's phenomenon, because that is how I "felt" it...
Never liked rock, incidentally. So I did not find THAT development exciting. Never liked pop music, either (Sinatra made me puke). I was (and am) a classical freak. Beyond that, all I could tolerate was blues, some traditional jazz (New Orleans), & genuine folk music. And I will say that I regard the over-all degeneration of musical taste in subsequent decades as deplorable. On this point, I am as reactionary a curmudgeon as anyone might hope for. |
