I've never tried to make trash out of you! I just find your attempt to minimize the rampant xenophobia in Europe ludicrous. And your last post to Neocon is really pathetic: you fumbled through these fusty volumes of Encyclopaedia Britannica of yours only for showing the world that Spanish Jews emigrated to Holland, France, Great Britain, the German Empire (Hamburg), Italy, Greece, Morocco, Palestine, Egypt, Hungary, and --last but not least-- the Balkans!! Is this your QED?? A couple of Jews lost their way in Salonika and you speciously brandish such a weak evidence to prove how tolerant SERBIA was!? Only to trip yourself up in the next sentence where you rightfully pointed to the fact that the Ottoman empire was a paragon of tolerance toward the other religions. But it was so because the Balkans were under Islam's rule!! LOL! And at that time, most of the Ottoman civil servants (pashas, muftis, and grand viziers) were Albanian fellows! So, what's the connection with Orthodox Serbs?
Besides, regarding the European media, all I can tell you is that you should watch them more often.... Remember that here in Belgium we can pick up German, Italian, British, Spanish, French, Dutch, Italian, Turkish, Moroccan, Portugese, and Greek channels --not to speak of CNN International and CNBC! So, how about this little exercise: turn your TV set on and tune in on CNN for say 10 minutes and then tune in on any other European channel and see the ''mismatch''.... |
