If you superimpose the EBAY and AMZN charts, it looks
like what may have happened is this: AMZN led the upticks
and EBAY led the downticks. AMZN shareholders are probably
excited that the B&N Ingram deal is canceled. At the end of
the day, when many EBAY momentum players saw that
EBAY was up and decided the momentum was sufficiently
exciting to "pile on" -- at this point, EBAY starts to
lead the upticks.

However, for EBAY to continue marching upward, the auction
count growth will probably have to improve. Currently,
the A/C growth for this quarter is running about 1/2 of
what it was in prior quarters. By some pricing models,
that could mean the share price is due for a lot more
correction.
