now i see with eye serene, the very glow of the machine...
context: responding to a fairly isolated posting (SI#12263) of over a year ago about the psychological import of a potential apple logo change, i noted the rumor of a glowing, bleached, albino apple symbol appearing on the first wall street model.
at the time, the luminiferous appearance didn't arrive as predicted, but now i can viscerally report that indeed the white light shines.
for my lucky spouse took delivery today of one of those 400mHz portabeasts after winning one of fifty at the recent WWDC confab!
although, theoretically, i may now generate apple parody commercials even faster (yes, 'soup' was right in that my first erzatz "kolors.mov" was too clunky -- that is now repaired with qt4 codec tricknology and a more appropriate product code name -- watch nobeige.com for an update), it's all hers, for maniacal genome sequencing or digiphoto jukebox storage.
the PBG3 '99 got us to the web in five minutes, spoofing our twins' iMac rather handily. we think all the fingers and toes are there, but it doesn't come replete with austin powers disks.
so, what should we put in a thank you note to sjobs?

p.s. my consolation prize would have to be an iBook, which i hope to see sport a metricom ricochet spread spectrum packet radio so those irksome tethers are eliminated from home, workplace, or classroom. is such "i" symmetry too much to hope for? lately we haven't seen the ideal web couple apple/metricom mentioned at the same spacetime locus, but the mutual benefits seem rather obvious. |
