Humbly report, All, Milestones in the millions marked by Web companies
Excerpt from cbs.marketwatch.com
Just as McDonald's (MCD: news, msgs) used to use outdoor signs to announce how many millions of hamburgers it had sold, Web companies are using news releases to report million-mark milestones, too. Go2Net (GNET: news, msgs) said its financial discussion site, Silicon Investor, received its 10 millionth posting today. The contributor, identified as Dan Spangenberg of Salt Lake City, will be invited to visit Seattle and meet Silicon Investor's founders.
Also in Seattle, Amazon.com (AMZN: news, msgs) said it expected to serve its 10 millionth customer soon. In celebration, Chief Executive Jeff Bezos said he would personally deliver the product bought by the customer.
E-tailer OnSale (ONSL: news, msgs), meanwhile, said it received its 11 millionth bid in the middle of last month.
