Frank, Interesting. It looks like Redhat, may fear a leap frog move from Corel and KDE. Redhat may not want to "legitimize the event." I hope the conference is a success, and am kind'a glad Redhat won't be there.
If Linux takes off, and there is increasing evidence that it will, I hope that Corel's efforts with KDE give it the "nod." I purposely bought SuSE Linux (to avoid Redhat) over the week-end for my first "hands-on" look at Linux. It contains the same kernel as Redhat, Gnome, and KDE, and it's bundled with WP8.
After using WP9 and enjoying it, if Linux takes-off, there will be plenty of potential for upgrades "for cash" of WP9, not to mention the coming Suite and the Corel's desktop. I don't believe Linux will replace "Windows," but after doing a little "straw poll" of my own among some "techies" I know, there is potential for a substantial market.
I'm beginning to like odds,
