Eicon Technology Introduces G.LITE Capable V.90 Modem

ATLANTA, GEORGIA--SUPERCOMM '99, Booth no. 4423

Eicon Technology Corporation, a global leader in remote access
solutions, today announced it will use the CopperGold(TM) Lite
chip set from Motorola (NYSE: MOT), a leading provider of
integrated communications solutions and embedded electronic
solutions. Through the agreement, Eicon will be among the first
vendors to develop a combination V.90/G.Lite modem geared towards
the high- speed Internet access market.

Utilizing the Motorola chip set, Eicon is making its entry into
the emerging DSL market. The DIVA V.90/G.Lite modem card will
offer consumers the ability to immediately take advantage of the
56K connections provided by V.90 modems, or use 1.5 Mbps G.Lite
where service is available. A prototype of the DIVA V.90/G.Lite
will be on display June 8-10 in the Motorola booth (no. 4423) at
SUPERCOMM '99 in the Georgia World Congress Center.

"Through this agreement with Motorola, we can now expand our line
of remote access products to include DSL solutions," said Maks
Wulkan, executive vice president, Eicon Technology. "The goal of
our new DIVA V.90/G.Lite products is to lead Eicon's push into the
residential and corporate markets throughout North America and
Europe, where the need for greater bandwidth is growing rapidly."

The DIVA V.90/G.Lite product family has been designed to serve as
a stepping stone for the next generation of remote access
solutions. The units will allow users to take advantage of the
modem technologies available today, while providing them with a
built-in upgrade to the new ADSL/G.Lite standard.

"Eicon is an ideal customer for our CopperGold Lite chip set
because of their global experience and already established
worldwide marketing and sales infrastructure," said Matt Nelson,
Product Manager for Motorola Semiconductor Products Sector.

About the DIVA V.90/G.Lite

The DIVA V.90/G.Lite will be available in the US as a PCI card
before the end of 1999. This will be followed by PC Card and USB
versions of the V.90/G.Lite modem. A European version of the
modem will be marketed in the same form factors, beginning with a
PCI version during 2000.
