How about VHS and Beta ? Two standards openly competing in the marketplace. VHS didn't do any backroom deals forcing manufacturers to drop Beta. Rather, the market made that determination. As for this: If IBM drops Netscape and get better price, and consumers get better price too, It is better for the consumers to have the choice of better price or more choice. That's why we have faith in free markets. The consumers didn't decide in this case. Microsoft did.
