You're right about the numbers. They look down right ugly at the moment. Also, as you pointed out, everybody and their dog with a dot com is doing an IPO. With so much 'product' out there I think the serious money will be looking for an edge. That might be good earnings prospects in the not too distant future, but it also might be brand strength and the ability to deliver the kind of audience that marketers want to target. IMHO iVillage fits the later.

I hold a lot of things that aren't net stocks, but the nets I do own in addition to IVIL are;

WEBT - one of the few profitable nets and their software has about a 50& market share

TSCN - one of the best financial sites on the net (Wallstreetcity.com). Early next month they will launch CNBC's financial analysis site. Microsoft founder Paul Allen is their largest shareholder.

CMGI - been in that one since it was ten bucks. Into everything and the nets best pure play stock.

Lycos - mainly I day trade it.
