I hate to contradict you, but I don't think Redmond would be a good source for managing Wind, they just don't have the experience in embedded, real-time, cross-platform, and internetworking that would be needed. In fact, the only thing Micro$oft are good at is muscling around with their $20B in cash buying everything which is remotely innovative so they can slap the Micro$oft logo on it (my NT system just bluescreened again and I lost half an hour, so I'm even more pissed off then usual at Micro$oft right now). The only people they could hire from the CE group that would appeal to me would have been hired away from Wind previously, so why bother.

What Wind really needs is somebody associated with the Internet, strong Investor and Marketing skills, and who won't try and compete for the visionary position at Wind (which is held down admirably by Jerry Fiddler in my opinion). Maybe Jim Barksdale is bored and would like another opportunity to rattle Bill Gates.

We all know what is real, and what is vapor, and Wall Street will figure it out eventually. Meanwhile, it's bargain time!
