Bill outstanding article...This part of it is perfectly aligned with liberal Democratic thinking...
No, what's most arrogant about Hillary Clinton's run for the New York senate seat is that New York Democrats have guaranteed her the nomination. They have guaranteed her a free-ride through what can be an ugly, ugly primary. They've overlooked the founder's intention that senators have intimate knowledge of the states they represent, they've overlooked the seedy impropriety of a first lady using her unearned national exposure for personal advancement, and they've overlooked the selfish, slothful amount of time she's taken to decide between the senate seat she thinks she deserves, and the un-reproachable advocacy she could engage upon leaving the White House. She has wasted valuable time that a native New York Democrat could have used to raise money should Hillary decide against the tug of her ego.
It's okay to represent a state you haven't even elementary knowledge of if it means a person with the appropriate world view, the Clinton world view, ascends to higher office. It is okay to exploit the state of race relations if it means the preservation of a plank in the Clinton doctrine. It is okay to defecate on personal liberties if the result is the oppression of right-wingers, pro-lifers, pornographers or foreigners who can't vote. It is okay to exploit the death of a family member if it means suppression of tobacco-demon, possessor, and corrupter of otherwise good southern Democrats.
It is okay to lie, perjure, mislead, cover-up, intimidate accusers and blackball uncooperative women if it means undermining unjust charges levied against a man of moral politics-especially when they're levied by Ken Starr and the Republicans, anti-Christs of religion Clinton.
There can be found in some leaders a flaw that's more dangerous than a lust for power, than corruption, than greed, than even unfettered, unbridled selfishness.
It is moral arrogance. And Clinton's got it in spades. |
