Bryan, Thanks for posting that report. Can you tell us where it came from? I'm not sure what I think about the credibility of the analysis. For example, this statement struck me as strange: Maxtor has long been known for being the leader in providing high performance drives for sophisticated PCs. Do people really think of Maxtor in that kind of role? I don't, personally. I would think that would be a more apt description for Seagate or even IBM. What do other readers of this thread think? It also sounded a bit funny to refer to this industry as "stagnant" when it is characterized by furious technological development and rapidly changing external and internal competitive forces.
