does anyone know if PA, Gates, and Russell belong to the same private clubs in Seattle?

Probably not the same clubs, but along with various generations of Nordstrom kids, they did all go to the same private high school, and that alumni group acts as one of the most exclusive clubs in Seattle. (And the Nordstrom connection is never insignificant here since that family's understated Swedish collectivist ways of doing things seems to have a pervasive effect on business in Seattle.)

And one more note: Allen was somewhat unique among Lakeside students since he didn't come from a rich family. His father was a librarian at UW and his mother a school teacher (I believe), but they clearly felt that it was worth the high cost of sending their son to the school. And who could disagree? The newest library building at UW is was paid for largely by Paul Allen and is named after his father.
