Paulo, I have done fairly well "consistently waiting for the day of reckoning". It all depends on how you go about it. If one has the patience to wait until the market becomes extremely overbought, and then adds some LEAP puts with mucho time to the portfolio, one is pretty well prepared for the day of reckoning and then some, as long as you are careful to balance the amount of puts purchased with what you will need to survive at least a normal bear market. In the meantime, we sell calls on stocks purchased at beaten down levels, for more income and a hedge against price dips. Yogi
