frank...it does appear a bit machiavellian... not much the average investor can do..the sec sees nothing wrong, unless proof of market/issue manipulation can be brought forward....just got to learn how to ride the waves..hold strong,fundamentally sound underlying positions, sell puts when they downgrade, sell calls when they upgrade..and the worse that can happen is you own more of what you wanted to own at a lower price, or you lose what you have at a profit....and if you are correct and in rhythm with the market, you collect enough premiums that eventually your adjusted cost basis is zero, and you can tell them all to go to hell...
