Use them as a contrarian indicator and profit it from their upgrades and downgrades like they do. Cynical? Probably, but more profitable than following their recommendations. I don't know how many times I've seen a major brokerage recommend a buy when a stock is 50 ( for example ) and than a sell when it is 25.
