I followed Empire in the Fall of 1997 when he projected (most correctly!!) the big slide in OS stocks that started in December 1997. I was too sure of myself to consider his thesis and lost big time holding EVI, RIG, FLC, NE etc as they dropped off a cliff. He was hooted off the AOL OS board by the perma-bulls and established his own refining board. At that time at least, he had an uncanny insight into the market. Perhaps he does this time as well.
