MCI's connection to Nextwave is a mistake by MCI. MCI's ever changing wireless strategy has been full of mistakes. It is a mistake by MCI because Nextwave will not make it and MCI will need to change horses yet again. If Nextwave were to even get enough funding to build their networks (far from certain), they can make no profit with the rates that they are charging MCI. Nobody paid more for licenses than Nextwave even after terms are considered. Does it make sense to pay the most to be the 4th or 5th company to market? Merrill Lynch dropped this company for a reason.
