Visual reality software....

In short is what STB was calling the TV interface software... but something caught my eye in this old press release...
STB Systems, Inc., ® (NASDAQ-STBI), a leading supplier of multimedia and convergence products, today announced DesktopVCR, an MPEG 1 and MPEG 2 video capture board that gives computer users unprecedented control over PC based digital video recording and editing, and acts as a hardware DVD decoder. The DesktopVCR combines an onboard TV tuner and DVD player with the ability to support external video and audio sources, and ties them together with STB's VisualReality software package.
Basically the 3500, but what caught my attention was the hardware DVD part... I never put this together... with all the mpeg capabilities of the 3500 I completely forgot about DVD. 2000 & 3000 have hardware assist, right? Not true hardware DVD decoding? If the 3500 is basicall the V3 core with the DesktopVCR chipset, I would assume that V3 now has full DVD decoding capabilities. Is this a revelation or was I just missing the obvious?
