Regarding my statement of a ""stop gap solution", I simply meant 2 years from now we will see phones that are probably as powerful as a PIII 500. At that point, what will it mean? I don't think SR will be taken on board the device, but you never know. Also, there will be a great legacy of dumb devices like pay phones that we will still want to use with Portico. Anyway, like you said SR is not Portico. No, what I meant was simply there will be a blend of GUI and VUI that will be developed around greater bandwidth and onboard processing power. Certainly, Qualcom will be a front runner on this and Microsoft is feeling the fear which means they'll win with Win CE at all costs. So, by "stop gap", I simple mean things are changing very fast.
