I have known a few missionaries in my life, my stepmother's family had relatives and friends who were missionaries in South America. I do not recall ever in my life, until this thread, having strangers come up and start asking questions about my personal life, or those of others without so much as a by-your-leave.
Even the Mormons and Seventh Day Adventists knock politely on your door, and if you tell them you are not interested, they go away.
I have never known a preacher to presume that you want to hear the gospel just out of the blue.
Every intelligent, perceptive missionary and minister knows that you must come to him/her, you must be ready to listen before you can hear. Jesus often said, he who has ears, let him hear. Jesus preached in public, but he never grabbed people by the arm and made them listen to him against their will.
Only by the technological advances of the Internet! But I believe that decent, kind, well-intentioned people would not harass and harangue people who did not ask them to share their views. |
