No. The shares were actually in my wife's IRA account
and she purchased them about a week or two before the
closing. So, she called them and asked them to tender
the shares. They said Ok, fine. Nothing else to do.

That was the same experience that I had with Fidelity
(only having to give the instructions over the phone)
and they handled it without a problem.
