One person in 100 owns a computer? Sounds suspicious. World population as of 07/01/99 is 5,996,215,340 (US census). Call it 6 billion), so 1 in 100 would be 60 million PC's.

As of 1/1/1999, there were 108 Million web users in US, Japan, UK, Germany, and Canada along (Computer industry almanac).

This means that 48 million web users dont have a PC. Quick, lets buy web TV stocks <g>. Although it seems that everyone has internet access, online penetration is currently well under 100% of PC owners.

Some people dont have a PC but surf at work (should they count?). To balance this, some people have two or more PC's.

You gotta questions those statistics...
