Hi MB,

I called the cable company and they told me that I would have to get separate service for my PC and laptop because of IP addresses. That is BS!!

You are correct though somewhat vulgar. The situation with the MSO is exactly the same BS that M$ forces you to go thru setting up NT Server. The nanny wants to know how many users so she can charge per seat. If you want to use the MSO, just set op a network drop the signal onto the server and 'keep your mouth shut'. To their eyes you have only one address. For you, multiple devices.

Eric I know you have mentioned using satellite feed but I have heard that weather causes problems. I have experienced this with my DirectTV dish.
I'll jump in here to say that TTBOMK, Hughes Direct PC is the only game in town. Not just weather, but the fact that the system is oversubscribed and they have imposed a "Fair Access Policy" is causing this to be less that ideal for a power user (think streaming data)
To be FAPped is to have your cajones cut off just at the times when you need the bandwidth the most. Like in a fast market. I think Hughes is back at the drawing board. OT: Where did people go back to before there were drawing boards?

HTH, Ry
