Log On America and Interspeed in Strategic Pact

Strategic Alliance Will Deliver High-Speed Internet and Voice Communications Services

PROVIDENCE, RI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 9, 1999-- Log On America, Inc. (Nasdaq NNM:LOAX - news), a provider of high-speed Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) services in the Northeast Corridor, and DSL hardware manufacturer Interspeed, Inc., a Brooktrout Company (Nasdaq NNM: BRKT - news), today announced that they have entered into a strategic pact that gives Log On America unprecedented access to SDSL equipment at a lower total cost of ownership.

The companies have joined under the terms of a two-year strategic alliance whereby Log On America would use Interspeed's System 1000 DSLAR Symmetrical Digital Subscriber Line units in co-location facilities within Bell Atlantic (NYSE:BEL - news) central offices throughout the Northeast.

This alliance enables Log On America to offer Internet and telecommunication services with its DSL products including: local dial-tone, long distance, high-speed Internet access and cable TV programming. Log On America will provide direct bundled packages at a lower price. Once fully deployed, Log On America anticipates $18,000,000 in annual recurring revenue. . Both Log On America and Interspeed will work together to develop future products for DSL transit and related areas to enhance delivery of high-speed Internet and voice services by both organizations to their customers.
