Drive Image restore problems.

I changed my partition size, and restored with DI. I had a couple of files come back cross-linked. I used Norton Utilities to straighten them out and everything's OK now.

Without changing the partition size, I've restored using DI many times without any difficulties. When things go wrong, a DI restore is usually much faster than trying to fix the problem. (12 minutes)

Cheers, PW.

P.S. I keep a few images around, and they ALL cross-linked the same two files on restore. In the future, if I change partition sizes, I'll restore the latest image, then change the partitions, and finally save the new image. This way, I'll experience error free restores, I hope.

P.P.S. The decision to remove the drive from the box to be sure the data is safe seems like a wise choice. The importance of the data should determine the extent of the safeguards and it looks like this stuff had considerable value.
