Metromedia Fiber Network, Inc. (NASDAQ:MFNX) and Comdisco, Inc. (NYSE:CDO) today announced a strategic alliance that integrates Comdisco's global business continuity capabilities with Metromedia Fiber Network's local dark fiber optical solution, providing transaction-intensive businesses with increased security and efficiency for availability and business continuity services. The two companies will introduce the service in the New York metropolitan area, with plans to expand to Comdisco facilities nationwide.
Metromedia Fiber Network's high-bandwidth dark fiber infrastructure will enable Comdisco to provide its customers with faster and more cost-effective availability services. In addition, Metromedia Fiber Network's dark fiber solution offers greater security and flexibility through a direct fiber optic link to Comdisco's local business continuity facilities.
