Costs will come down, this is the very same pooping on SDRAM switch from EDO in '96- doesn't really work, too expensive, yada, yada, yada.
Also, INTC spent the money for the DRAM makers, Samsung will gain lions share of a more profitable item. Why MU support if they see that RDRAM is DOA? I know, INTC gave them $500B, but they could of dragged their feet, but instead MU appears to have sped up RDRAM development....hum...
RE, Sony and RDRAM in their PC's, it my understanding this will be very PC like and the WSJ, NYT's have had very elaborate write ups on how this console will challenge the PC industry...
How about the Timna news and the integration of the RDRAM memory controller right onto the processor!? It shows you where INTC is going.
