Yes, I think you can know by the spirit. But the Truth is only spiritually discerned. It cannot be discerned mentally or intellectually. You cannot reason things out and ever get to the Truth because that's not the way it comes. It comes by the spirit. Someone who is dead spiritually cannot discern what the Truth is because the Truth is not a mental thing. It is a spiritual thing. When Light comes, the blindness is removed. You can finally see the Truth because you have been made alive in the spirit. The Light has come on. "In Him was life and that life was the light of men." ST
