Hi Jerry,

Thanks for the reply.

I'm pretty sure I'll be at TAOTBII, unless something unforseen comes up at work etc.. I'm really looking forward to it. I've never been to the Northeast Coast. Newark, NewYork, etc.. I was stationed in Norfolk VA but thats as far up the coast as I've been.

I'm still trying to develop indicators, but I'm doing it in a slightly different manner. I'm trying to develop pattern recognition systems on simple price histories. I'm not fast enough sometimes to cut losses quickly. So I try to stay away from the large volatility stocks even if their overall trend is up. I like the slow, low volatility ones on the uptrend. When one like this makes a u turn I think the probs are in your favor its a bad sign not just a fluke or resting. Anyway thats my thinking currently. Could change tommorow. I would love to be able to develop S/R in to indicators. One could do this in WOW if the program had variables to store data in but it doesn't.

I still use what I have titled "SrsiDNS" as one of my scans. Or when I'm just cruising through my database looking.

Before I found TA I used to follow a group of stocks out of "Money Magazine" which they called the "Money 30". It was there group of stocks that they thought were the new DOW. These stocks have done fantastically over the past year. As a matter of fact three of the four that were recently added to the DOW were Money 30 stocks. trv, jnj. I can't remember the other one but it was not Walmart, so you probably know the 4th. I just wish the majority of these stocks weren't so expensive. I guess they've already proven that they are performers and their price reflects this fact.

I like pattern formations. My problem is they are often hard for me to recognize. I see cups and handles everywhere: walking down the street, in my sleep, in my alphabet soup.<ggg>

I havn't been looking at weekly and monthly very much. I'll start doing this.

I believe the secret for my trading is the sell. I too cut losses very early. Probably too early but that is why I pick the stocks that I do. If they start down, something major has changed.

Again you may be a student but your at least in the 8th or 9th grade, I'm still in kindegarden. Anything that I post is purely my opinion and should be regarded as such. Hopefully they will stimulate some good conversation and thinking so all can benefit. New guys can think of new things and the Older guys can remember things that may have already forgotten.

I'm not on as much as I used to be because time has become a rare commodity in my life.

Talk to you soon,

David
