Tim, the SEC has very specific rules about releasing any information about ongoing investigations. The letter in this case was leaked, but by policy had to contain standard disclaimers. The author as well had to cover herself by including a disclaimer (especially considering Danny's penchant for suing anyone he can).

There is no way that they can say anything publicly until an indictment is handed down. The SEC tries to protect investors, this does not mean people should take this lightly!

The thing is that this is only one more in a series of published reports that the SEC is investigating Camelot. I am not sure how you can possibly ignore it, or try to lesson the seriousness of this matter by fishing for mitigating phrases!

BTW the only verbage about the new product was stated by Camelot. they seemed to be saying that it was OK to have shipped software that did not work, because a year later they fixed it. The only thing I remember ( I have the whole article on my machine if anyone wants a copy) them saying is that it is supposed to work with Win95.

What I found heartwarming was the quote of "someone who has observed Camelot stock closely" that the stock price is completely HYPE/Press Release driven. This is something I have been saying for the better part of a year now. This company is an empty shell with a scofflaw running it!!

I got an e-mail response about one of my postings to misc.invest.stocks today.
The person responding indicated that they were researching Camelot/Digiphone for an upcoming publication. They said that they had contacted over 90% of the people listed in the Digiphone Global Directory. They indicated further that all but a hand full felt like they had gotten screwed, had never been able to get the product to work, and had in many cases tried to return the product only to be refused.

I would think that taken in total this kind of information would give a careful investor reason to go elsewhere. I know that you stand to lose money when this whole thing crashes down (as it almost surely will) but please think this over carefully and do not let tunnel vision keep you from doing the right thing from a financial standpoint.
